American School for the Deaf

Take Rt. 32 to Rt. 395N to Rt. 2N. Go to Rt. 84 and go west on it to exit 41 (east if you’re coming from Rt. 9). A large highway sign (American School for the Deaf) is posted immediately before the exit. Make a left from 84E at the end of the exit. This is S. Main Street. Continue on S. Main Street to the 5th traffic light. This will be W. Hartford Center. S. Main Street now becomes N. Main Street.. Go straight through the intersection of Farmington Avenue (5th light) to the 6th and 7th traffic light. This will be Fern Street. Continue straight and ASD is located a short distance up the road on the left hand side. The second driveway is the entrance.

Take Rt. 32 N to Rt. 395 N to Rt. 290 through Worcester.
Proceed about 7 miles on 290 to split - 290 will go left, 190 to the right.
Take 190 to right.
Take first exit (about 1 mile) - Gold Star Boulevard.
Go down ramp and stay to the left.
Get on the road which looks like you go back onto 190, up ramp.
Take exit for Shore Drive/Norton Drive. At first light (400 yards), take a left.
Go about 1/2 mile. School is on right.

Take Rt. 2 to Hartford to Rt. 84W (Exit 18). Follow Rt. 84 into Waterbury and take Highland St. Exit. Follow signs and get onto Highland. Pass over highway and at traffic light, take a right onto Chase Ave. The driveway for school is about 1/4 mile down on left before school sign entrance. Gym is next to parking lot after Middle School driveway (unmarked). Fields are next to gym.

Take 95 S to Rt. 9 N. In Middletown, EITHER follow Rt. 66 W to Meriden and get onto Rt. 691 W in Meriden OR continue on Rt. 9 N to Rt. 91 S to Rt. 691 W. Follow to Rt. 84 W into Waterbury. Follow directions above for the school.

Swimming (Waterbury YMCA) Take I-95 South to Route 9 North. Then take Route I-91 South to Route I-691 West. Follow I-691 to Route I-84 into Waterbury. Take Exit 22 - Union St./Downtown. Take a left turn at the end of the exit and at the fourth (4th) light take a right onto South Main Street. At the third (3rd) light take a left. The YMCA will be on the right just past a church.

From I-95 (to I-91 North)
Follow I-91 North to exit 10 (Rt. 40 connector). Follow to Rt. 10. Turn right at the end of the connector toward Cheshire. Follow for 8 miles. Turn right into the campus entrance at the third light after the Cheshire Town Green.

From Rt. 15 (Merritt Parkway)
Exit 61 (Whitney Avenue/Rt. 10), turn right. Continue on Rt. 10 for 8.5 miles. Turn right into the campus entrance at the third light after the Cheshire Town Green.

BASEBALL:
To Bartlem Park and Cheshire High School (They are across the street from each other)
Take 95 S to 91 N. Take Exit 10N (Cheshire-Hamden). Turn right onto Rt. 10 N into Cheshire. You will see Cheshire HS on the left and Bartlem (Field) Park on the right.

JV Baseball plays at McNamara Legion Fields
Follow directions above to Cheshire High School. Pass Cheshire High. At light, intersection of 10 and Rt. 68/70 (Academy Road), turn right. Take a left onto Wiese Road to the McNamara fields on the right side of the road.

Take 95 S to Exit 27A. Follow the ramp around onto the Rt. 8-25 connector. Continue on this highway for about three miles until the road divides. Stay towards the left on Rt. 25. Take exit 7. This exit ramp divides. Stay to the right towards Rt. 127/White Plains Road. Turn right at traffic light at end of ramp onto White Plains Road. The school is located approximately one-quarter mile down on the right.

Rather than going all the way down I95, you could get onto The Merritt Turnpike south in Milford (Exit 38). Go to Exit 50 (White Plains Road). Take a right off the exit and the school is about 200 yards on the left.

For Soccer games 2005: Indian Ledge Park, Whitney Avenue, Trumbull, CT
Merritt Parkway to Exit 48. Take a right off ramp. Continue on Main St. past St. Theresa's R.C. Church on left, past Trumbull Town Hall on right, past St. Joseph's Manor on right to Y intersection (approx. 2.5 miles). Bear right, past Luigi's. At stop sign, take a right onto Whitney Avenue. Follow sign indicating Indian Ledge Park on right.( UPDATED 9-8-05)

For Baseball 2006- Unity Park Take a right out of CHS driveway. Go under Merritt Parkway. Turn right into Park. (white sign).

To Madison Junior High Take a left out of CHS driveway onto White Plains Road. Proceed through Trumbull center, bearing left onto Church Hill Road. Follow to Main Street. Take a right onto Main Street. Take a left onto Lake Avenue. Follow to the end, and take a left onto Madison.

Take 95 S to Exit 75 (Flanders). Go to stop light (McDonalds on right). Take a right at that light. School entrance is about 1/2 mile on left. Take first right off that entrance road and follow road around to the back of the school. Park. Softball and field hockey fields are up the hill.

Take Rt. 2 to Hartford. Take Rt. 84W to Farmington exit. Go through Farmington to Rt. 4 towards Torrington. At blinking yellow light, make a right. Continue on Rt. 4 through Harwington. At JCT Rt. 118, take 118 to Litchfield. As you enter Litchfield, you will go up steep hill. See a large white church. Go to second light and take a right onto Rt. 63. Go on Rt. 63 for about 1 mile. Forman School is on Norwalk Rd. on the right.

Take 95 S. Take Exit 18 (Sherwood Island). Take a right. At the second light, take a right onto Greens Farms Road which runs into Beachside Ave. Road will pass over highway. Academy should be down that a road a short ways on the left.

Directions to GRASS ISLAND

* I-95 Exit 3 (Northbound turn left onto Arch Street, Southbound turn right onto Arch Street).
* Turn left onto Horseneck Lane.
* First left onto Shore Road.
* First left onto Grass Island Road.

Take 95 south and take Exit 61. Take a left off the ramp. Take a right onto Woodland Road. The school is 3/4 mile on the left. Fields are behind the school.

Connolly Parkway Fields: Take 95 S to 91 N. Take Exit 10 (Mt. Carmel Connector). Take Exit 1. Take a left off ramp to Hartford Turnpike light; take a left there to Dixwell Avenue. Take a right onto Dixwell Avenue. Proceed up hill and then down hill and into center of town. Turn left at major intersection onto Whitney Avenue (Rt. 10 south). Proceed to third light at major intersection and turn right onto Skiff Street. Field entrance is 1/4 mile up on the left..

Hamden Hall Country Day School: Take I-95 S to New Haven. Take I-91 N to Willow Street Exit 6 (left exit). Turn right at end of ramp and follow Willow Street west to Whitney Ave. (about 1/2 mile). Go right onto Whitney and go about 1 mile to 4th traffic light. Hamden Hall is on the left at this light.

Tennis courts at Yale: Take Rt. 95 S to New Haven. Take Exit 47 to downtown New Haven and go to end (Exit 3). Continue to go straight on Frontage Road. At the end, take right onto Ella T. Grasso Boulevard. Take an immediate left onto Derby Avenue following signs for the Yale Bowl. Go through pillars on right by Yale Bowl and follow road to tennis courts.

Swimming Pool at Albertus Magnus: Take 95S to 91N (in New Haven). Get into the left lane and take the left exit for Willow Street. At end of ramp, take a right onto Willow Street. Follow to Whitney Ave. At light, take a right onto Whitney Ave. Take the second left onto Highland Street. Take the next right onto Prospect. Take the first left (driveway). Go down a hill and the pool is the back building.

Take 395 N to Exit 95. At end of ramp, turn right. At the stop light, continue across intersection, take a left at the bridge. Proceed straight onto Rt. 171 W. Turn left onto Rt. 169 S. Hyde School is approx. 1/4 mile.

Follow the directions for Pomfret School and Rectory School. Continue on past Pomfret and Rectory Schools. Stay on Rt. 169 passing over Rt. 44. The Hyde School extends on both sides of the road and is approximately 1/4 mile away. The fields and the gym are on the left.

From New London:

* Route 95 South to Route 9 North.
* Take Route 9 north to Exit 11, Randolf Road.
* Left on Randolf Road, and proceed to 3rd traffic light (approximately 3 miles).
* Left onto Route 17; continue south approximately 1 mile.
* The Haveli Indian Restaurant will be on your left (Tudor style building).
* Continue and take first light onto Brush Hill Road.
* Follow Brush Hill turning left at Jarvis Manufacturing onto Anderson Road.
* Continue 3/4 mile to school driveway on the left.

Take 95 S to Exit 8 (Elm Street). At the end of ramp, turn right and continue for 4 miles. It is a long straight 4 miles w/ Elm Street turning into Grove Street which turns into Strawberry Hill Ave which turns into Newfield Ave. The school is on the left (after going the 4 miles). For the tennis courts, take the first entrance which will say South Campus. It will take about 1 1/2 hours from Williams.

Westbound from New Haven via the Merritt Parkway (which you get on from 95 around Milford):
Take Exit 35 - High Ridge Road. At the end of the ramp, turn a right and go back under the bridge that you just came over. Follow road to the first stop light. Turn left onto Buxton Farm Road and continue to stop sign. Make a right onto Turn of River Road and continue to another stop sign. Take a left onto Intervale Road and continue to traffic light. Make a left onto Newfield Avenue. The South Campus (Lower and Middle School) is approximately 1/8 th mile on the left and the North Campus (Upper School) is approximately 2 blocks further on the same side. (It's a little tricky getting back to the highway - street signs change - ask at the school before leaving).

Take either Rt. 2 or Rt. 9 to Hartford and I-84 W. Take Exit 43 (Park Road). Take a right at bottom of the ramp. Take a left immediately at traffic light onto Trout Brook Drive. Follow that road and school is on the right.

or

Take Rt. 32 to Rt. 395 N to Rt. 2 W to Rt. 84 W, take Exit 43, go right at bottom of ramp and then follow directions above to school.

The swim team will be swimming at American School for the Deaf: Take Rt. 32 to Rt. 395N to Rt. 2N. Go to Rt. 84 and go west on it to exit 41 (east if you’re coming from Rt. 9). Go straight through two lights. The road will become a "Y." Stay to left. At the next light, take a left onto Maple Street. The school will be on your right (1/4 mile).

(For Tennis and Soccer) Forest Park: From 91 northbound: Take Exit 2 off 91 N. Merge into traffic (get into right lane). Go through one light. At the second light, take a right onto Sumner Ave. Go through 3 more lights (1 mile up). The Forest Park entrance will be on your right. Stop at the booth and tell the man that you are a competitor of the MacDuffie School. The tennis courts are on the left.

(For Baseball) Hubbard Park: Take I-91 North to Springfield. Merge onto I-291 N/US-20 E toward US-20 E/Mass. Pike/Boston. Merge onto US-20E/Page Blvd. via exit 5A toward Indian Orchard. Stay straight to go onto Crosley Street. At the end of Crosley Street, take a right onto Oak Street. At the end of Oak Street take a left onto MA-21/Parker Street. The park is at 205 Parker Street on your right.

To Van Horn Park, Home Site of some of MacDuffie soccer games (some are played at MacDuffie School). From I - 91 North and Southbound take Exit 8 to Route 291. Take Exit 3 from Route 291. Go straight ahead through the traffic light intersection. Bear left around the rotary. Stay in the left lane. The Massachusetts State Police Complex is also on the left. Then take a left turn onto Armory Street. Move immedieately into the right lane. Turn right after the Blockbuster Video store. Pass Lady of Hope Church on the left. Go straight through the intersection at the traffic lights. Van Horn Park is 1/2 mile in the right.

Take Rt. 32 to Rt. 395 N. Take Exit 99. Take right onto Rt. 200 E. Go about 1 mile and bear right at fork (building with 4 large pillars). Take next right. Go down long avenue of trees. Once on the property, take a right to fields (baseball and softball).

Rt. 2 to Hartford. Rt. 84 W to Prospect Ave. Exit. Continue on Prospect to end. Take a right onto Albany Avenue. Go 100 yards to stoplight. Take a left onto Bloomfield Avenue. Go by Watkinson School on the right. Go left onto Rt. 185 W to Rt. 10 N to Rt. 309 W. Go by Post Office on left in W. Simsbury. See tiny Mall on right and keep going straight. Go up little hill and school should be on right. Follow road back to school and fields.

TENNIS AND GOLF are played at Simsbury Farms Recreation Area, 100 Old Farms Road, Simsbury. Old Farms Road is off Route 309, past the school on the right.

Alternate route (submitted by Anne Bing - tennis coach) - Take 95 south to Route 9 north. Go to Route 84 west to Route 4 north. Then take Route 10 north through Avon. Take a left onto Route 309 to Master's.

Take I-395 North to Exit 81 East. After taking exit 81 you will be on route 2, a four-lane highway. At the end of the four lane highway, turn right at the traffic light. The Leffingwell Inn will be on your left and the William Backus Hospital on your right. Stay on Washington Street Past Arnold on your left and Fanning Avenue on your right. Just ahead you will see a traffic light at Carroll Avenue. This is a three-way intersection joining Washington Street, bearing to your right, Carroll Avenue off to the extreme left and Broadway, a slight turn to your left.

Take Broadway (the middle choice) and you will see NFA on your left.

Take 95 South to Exit 66. Take a left off the ramp and go to Rt. 1 (stop light). Take a right and go about 1.5/2 miles. The school will be on the left. Fields are behind the school.

95 N to Exit 91 (North Main St./Stonington). Take a right. Take the second left (Stonington Borough). Proceed about 1/2 mile to school on left.

Take Rt. 395N to Dayville, Exit 93 (Pomfret, Rogers). Take a left off ramp onto Rt. 101. Continue to Rt. 169. Take a right onto 169 and follow to Pomfret School on left. The fields are way down behind the school.

Take Rt. 95N to Rt. 195E. Three miles to Exit 6 (Broadway). Turn left. Continue 1/2 mile to light. Take a left and go to light at 1/2 mile. Continue straight to first driveway at school.

Take Rt. 395N to Dayville, Exit 93 (Pomfret, Rogers). Take a left off ramp onto Rt. 101. Continue to Rt. 169. Take a right onto 169 and follow to Pomfret School on left. The fields are way down behind the school. Rectory School is 1 block further on left.

Take 95N to Exit 8A (East Greenwich, Rt. 2). You will see Showcase Cinema on left. At light, take a left onto Division Street and continue about 2 1/2 miles to center of town. At traffic light, take a right onto Main Street. Go down hill to light and take a left. Continue toward Goddard Park about 4 miles. Pass Park on left - stay on main road. (Do not take minor road to right which leads to school.) Continue about 1/2 mile to sign for gym and athletic fields on right. Continue to back of gym for fields.

Take I-95 South to exit 45, the Boulevard. Veer left on the ramp and continue down the Boulevard until you reach Howard Ave. Take a right on Howard Ave. and then a left on South Water Street. The Sound School is located on the right.

Take Rt. 95N to Exit 3 in RI (Rt. 138 E). Go toward Newport. Go left (north) onto Rt. 1 and 138. Take Rt. 138 E off Rt. 1, across Jamestown and Newport (toll) bridges. Take second exit after Bridge to Rt. 138 E (or 138 N to Cape). Turn left at traffic light. Continue straight through two traffic lights, then through two stop signs. Turn right at next traffic light onto Rt. 214. Bear right at next light. Turn left at "Johnny’s House of Seafood." School is on the left at top of hill.

Follow Old Colchester Rd. past Montville High to Rt. 82. Stay to right - see Our Lady of Lakes Church on right. Take a left onto Doyle Drive to first left (Cottage Street). STM is on left.

Take I-95 N to Exit 91 (North Main St./Stonington).

Either: 1) go straight across and continue to end. Take a right and the school will be about 1-2 miles on the left just after the police station. Stay to the left when you enter and follow the road back around, past the SB field and the next parking lot is for FH.

or 2) Take a right. Take the second left (Stonington Borough). Take a left onto Rt. 1 and continue until you come to the school on the right (several miles) just before the police station. Stay to the left when you enter and follow the road back around, past the SB field and the next parking lot is for FH.

Get on Bank Street (U.S. Rt. 1) and follow until you pass the Super Stop and Shop on right. Continue through that light. The road will fork. Go left at the fork. The school is immediately on the left.

or

Take 95 S. Take Vauxhall St. exit, take right at stop sign, go to next stop sign and go straight across the street onto Phillips St., take left onto Jefferson St. At stop sign (across from New London H.S.), bear (or go) right onto Chester St., take left onto Clark Lane. Go to the end and take right. At "Y", bear left. Waterfor H.S. is on left.

Varsity Softball is played at Vet’s Field - when the road forks (above), go straight and Vet’s Field is a little ways on the left. Parking is just beyond the field.

JV Softball is played at Leary Park in Waterford - go out back gate of Conn. College and go left onto Williams Street. Go to stop sign and go right onto Briggs Street. Take second right (signs for I-95 S) onto Frontage Road. Stay in right lane and exit just past Chuck-E Cheese onto Vauxhall Street Ext. At stop sign, take a left and follow about 2 miles to Leary Park on the right. Softball field is down the hill in the back.

Rt. 2 to Hartford. Rt. 84 W to Prospect Ave. exit 44. Take a right at end of exit and then a left at first light onto Prospect Avenue (if you’re coming from Rt. 9, take a left and then go straight). Continue on Prospect to end. Take a right onto Albany Avenue. Go 100 yards to stoplight. Take a left onto Bloomfield Avenue. School is approximately 1/4 mile up on right.

Watkinson Cross-Country Meets
Farmington Avenue Reservoir: Take route 84 to Exit 39 (Farmington exit). At the intersection at the end of the exit, turn right heading toward UCONN Medical Center. Approximately two miles down on your left is the entrance to the reservoir. Drive to the back of the reservoir and park.

Take Rt. 84 W from Hartford to Exit 17. Follow Rt. 64 for about 2 miles. At the fourth stop light (after blinking light), turn left onto Rt. 188 north. The school will be on the right. Take a right onto South Street (just before the school). Park in small lot just after the gym.

Take I-95 North across the Gold Star Bridge. Stay to the right and exit for Route 1. Go straight off the exit to Route 1. Go straight through the first light and then follow signs for and get on Clarence B. Sharp Highway. After you're on the highway, (Route 349) continue on this until the four lane highway ends at a traffic light. That is now Brandegee Avenue. Go straight for a block or so, and the school will be on the left side.

WASHINGTON PARK (SOFTBALL). Follow directions above, except after you get on Clarence B. Sharp Hwy, take a right at the first light (Groton Police Dept. on the corner) and follow around to Washington Park on the left.

Directions Athletic Fields at 357 Walker Street, Seekonk, MA 02771:

From the west - Take 195E to Mass. Exit 1 (Rt. 114A N). Turn left off exit and proceed past movie complex. Follow directions as above. From Boston, heading south on 95: Take Newport Avenue - US 1A South Exit. At second light, turn left onto Benefit Street. Follow onto Central Ave (Benefit joins Central). At second traffic light, turn right onto Rt. 152 south. Go approximately 3 miles (pass Seekonk library), then left onto Walker Street.

From the Wheeler School in Providence - From Hope Street, turn Left onto Waterman Street and follow over the Henderson Bridge. Take the Massasoit Exit, bearing right onto Massasoit Street. Travel to intersection of No. Broadway/Rt 152. Turn left onto Rt 152/Newman Ave. Follow through three sets of lights. After crossing the reservoir, and the blinking yellow light, continue about a mile and turn Right onto Walker Street. Follow directions as above.

Directions to Van Norman Field House: from Walker Street, continue past main Farm entrance on left to end of Walker Street. Turn left at stop sign onto Prospect St. The Field House is the first building on the left.

North Stonington, CT 860-535-0377

Take Rt. 95N to Exit 92. Take a left onto Rt. 2. Continue to rotary. Go around rotary and stay on Rt. 2. Go about a mile to the first stop light (firehouse). Take a left there and park by the tennis courts. Softball field is down behind the courts. (To get to the schools, head back to the light and turn left. The schools will be down the road approximately 1/4 mile.)

Take Rt. 32 N to Rt. 395 N to Rt. 290 east to Worcester. Take exit 13 (Vernon Street) off 290. Turn right on Vernon, second left will be Dorcester Street; to top of hill; cross Providence Street; entrance to parking lot is on your left.

To New Balance Fields on Stafford Street:
From 290 East- Take Exit 9 (Swanson Road). Take left off ramp, cross over 290, then quick right at lights on Vine Street. Follow Vine Street to lights, take left at lights (Auburn Street), go 1/2 mile on Auburn St. to Oxford St. and take a right at the top of the hill (Oxford St.). Stay straight, keeping left, for 1.4 miles to lights. Take left at lights on Stafford Street. Continue on Stafford Street, about 1/4 mile and and fields will be on the right.
