4/6/2010 Home vs. Masters

The Williams Varsity Baseball Team opened its 2010 season with a 15-4 loss to Masters.  Noah Spigelman had a 2-run double in the 4th inning.  Spencer Esty and drew Watson had back-to-back RBI doubles in the 5th inning.  Doug Weatherby (0-1) took the loss for the Blues.

4/7/2010 at Wooster

The Williams Varsity Baseball Team earned its first victory of the season with a 24-9 win over Wooster.  With the score 9-8 after 2 inning, the Blues scored four runs in the 3rd inning and broke the game open in the 4th inning.  In the 4th, Jeep Madison had a 3-run home run, Drew Watson followed with a 2-run homer and Noah Spigelman had a 3-run homer.  Spencer Esty had three hits and scored four runs.  Noah Spigelman (1-0) earned the complete game victory after setting down in the final three innings.  The Blues are now 1-1.

4/10/2010 Home vs. Greens Farms

The Williams Varsity Baseball Team lost its second game of the season 14-5 to Greens Farms.  Drew Watson had three hits including two doubles and an RBI.  Jake Goldberg had a 2-run double.  Jeep Madison and Spencer Esty also had two hits apiece.  Tim Larson and Peter Schavoir had the other RBI’s for the Blues.  Doug Weatherby (0-2) took the loss.

4/14/10 Home vs Marianapolis

After 2 innings we were down 6-0. We scored 2 runs in the third and 5 runs in the 4th inning to take a 7-6 lead. We were ahead 8-6 going into the 7th and Marianapolis scored twice to tie the score. They scored 4 runs in the top of the 8th for a 12-8 lead. Our boys fought back and scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th to win 13-12. Doug Weatherby pitched the entire game minus one batter. Drew Watson threw 4 pitches to strikeout the last batter and was credited with the win. In a fitting manner, Doug had the walk-off single to win the game as Spencer Esty scored the winning run.

4/19/2010 at King School

The Williams Varsity Baseball Team started strong by taking a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the third inning before losing to King School 14-4.  King School scored four times in the bottom of the third and nine times in the fourth.  Noah Spigelman pitched a strong game dropping to 1-2, but the defense let him down in this game.  Jeep Madison and Drew Watson led Williams at the plate with two hits apiece.  Doug Weatherby and Spencer Esty had the other hits for the Blues who dropped to 2-4.

4/21/2010 Home vs. Watkinson

The Williams Varsity Baseball Team started strong against Watkinson, scoring three runs in the first inning.  They put the game away with 16 runs and 15 hits in the second inning and won 20-3. Drew Watson pitched three solid innings to raise his record to 2-0 and Aaron Hosking pitched two innings of relief.  Noah Spigelman had four hits including two doubles and four RBI.  Jeep Madison and Spencer Esty had four hits apiece.  Jake Goldberg, Peter Schavoir and Hosking had three hits apiece.  Jeff Brodie, Madison, and Goldberg had 3 RBI apiece.  Williams is now 3-4.

4/24/2010 Home vs. STM

The Williams Varsity Baseball Team fell behind 6-0 after two inning and could not recover, losing to STM 14-6.  Jeep Madison, Aaron Hosking, Drew Watson and Jake Goldberg had 2 hits apiece for the Blues.  Noah Spigelman dropped to 1-3.  Williams is now 3-5 and 1-1 in SENE

4/26/2010 Home vs. Chase Collegiate

The Williams Varsity Baseball Team lost a pitchers’ duel to Chase Collegiate 3-0.  Doug Weatherby pitched a complete game striking out 8 and walking three but dropped to 0-3.  Noah Spigelman had 2 hits for the Blues while Drew Watson and Jeff Brodie had the other hits.  Williams is now 3-6 overall.

4/29/2010 Home vs. Hebrew School

The Williams Varsity Baseball Team gave up four runs in the top of the first but stormed back to defeat the Hebrew School 13-4.  Drew Watson (3-0) pitched five innings of no hit baseball in relief of Doug Weatherby, striking out 10 batters.  Spencer Esty led Williams with four hits and four RBI including a 3-run HR to cap of the scoring.  Parker Douglas had three hits for the blues, now 4-6.

5/1/2010 at Marianapolis

The Williams Varsity Baseball Team gave up 6 runs in the first inning and could not overcome that deficit in losing to Marianapolis 8-1.  Noah Spigelman settled down after that first inning, giving up only two runs the rest of the way but dropped to 1-4.  Spencer Esty had two hits and drove in the only Williams run.  Jeep Madison, Drew Watson, and Jeff Brodie had the other hits for the Blues.  Williams is now 4-7 and 1-2 in SENE.
