WILLIAMS 35 VS MARIANAPOLIS 56
CONGRATULATIONS to all the basketball players for their teamwork , sportsmanship.and improvement throughout the season. Prior to the last regular season game three seniors, Carly Mattson, Annie Marcinek and Marisssa Peck were honored and recognized for theiir contributions to the Wiliams basketball program. Bouquets of flowers were presented to them from Coach Chrimes. Speaking on behalf of the team, Capri De Biccari talked about Annie, Emily Malcynsky talked about Marissa and Annie Nelson talked about Carly. Coach also recognized the two seniors on the Mariaapolis squad. Many many thanks to all the parents who supported and cheered for the Lady Blues along with providing after game refreshments. Thanks to Mr. Peck for keeping our home scorebook along with thanks to the parents that kept our statistics. A special thanks goes to Mrs. Benson, our team parent, who faithfully provided players,parents and coaches with team information. A big THANKS to all those who supported The Williams School Varsity Girls Basketball Program. Williams played hard and aggressive against a strong Marianapolis team. This was a good game for the Lady Blues. Marissa secured a double -double with 11 points and 10 rebounds along with posting 4 steals and 7 blocked shots. Capri De Biccari recorded 7 points with 5 boards,1 assist,2 steals and 1 block. Haley Walsh and Annie Nelson showed a lot of improvement as they picked up the pace of their game. Every player received playing time. Williams will travel to Falmouth on Wednesday for the first round of the SENE Tournament.
WILLIAMS 19 VS LINCOLN 65
Williams played the best they could against Lincoln. The score was not indicative of how the Blues competed but showed how highly skilled, talented and disciplined their opponent was on the court. Lincoln raised their overall record to 17-4 defeating their opponents by an average of 22.9 points. Lincoln's shooting was quite accurate from different ranges making defending difficult. The Blues pulled down 27 boards along with securing 7 steals and 3 blocks. Every team member saw action on the court. Williams is 6-9 overall and 6-6 in SENE.
WILLIAMS 36 VS MARIANAPOLIS 65
Williams had the lead during the first ten minutes of competition but found themselves struggling for the remainder of the game. The Blues, dropping to a 6-9 overall record, had trouble stopping the offensive play of Marianapolis now 16-5 overall. Every varsity player received playing time along with JV freshman Marjorie Holcombe who was invited to travel with the team. Haley Walsh, Annie Nelson, Capri De Biccari , Kimmie Meneo and Emily Malcynsky were the starters for todays game. Capri led the team with 14 points followed by Marissa Peck with 10 and Annie Marcinek with 8.
WILLIAMS 30 VS HYDE 39
After playing a nicely executed first half Williams struggled during the second period of the game coming up short by nine points ending with a 30-39 loss. At the half the score was tied at 16 all. Senior captain Annie Marcinek made most of her 14 points with excellent low post moves while pulling down 7 rebounds. Capri De Biccari contributed 9 points, 8 boards, 2 assist and 2 steals with three blocked shots. Marisssa Peck tossed in 5 points along with posting 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots in limited playing time due to a previously sprained ankle injury. Thanks to parents and friends for their continued support and help.
WILLIAMS 61 VS WHEELER (RI) 18
Displaying outstanding team effort, every varsity player contributed to the victory over Wheeler. CONGRATULATIONS to the TEAM and Coach Chrimes for their second consecutive win, for raising their overall record to 6 - 7 and for lifting their SENE standing to 6 - 2. Williams three captains posted double-doubles. Annie Marcinek contributed a personal and game high 17 points with 13 rebounds. Capri De Biccari dumped in 12 points and pulled down 15 boards in addition to offering 4 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocked shots. After missing three games plus additional minutes on the court due to an ankle injury, Marissa Peck added 11 points and 10 boards. Improving every game and showing increased intensity on the court, sophomore Kimmie Meneo earned a starting slot for todays game. Emily Malcynsky who had a nice game continues to raise the level of her playing through increased assertiveness and a quick transition between offensive and defensive play. Players who put points on the board in addition to the captains include Kimmie, Emily, Christina Menniti, Emily Benson and Carly Mattson. To our parents and fans, THANKS for your support.
WILLIAMS 41 VS PROVIDENCE COUNTRY DAY 36
At the half Williams led 18-11 but succumbed to full court pressure by PCD putting the game at 21-21 with 12:25 on the clock. PCD then kept the lead until the 6:31 mark when Williams tied the game at 27-27. With 5:16 left to play PCD took back the lead 31-29. With 2:12 remaining on the clock the Blues took a one point lead, 35-34, keeping the lead then winning by a five point margin. Both teams used a full court press resulting in a fast paced game with five ties and three lead changes during the last six minutes and thirty-seconds. CONGRATULATIONS GOES to the TEAM and COACH CHRIMES for the exciting game, for their perseverance, for the victory and for the terrific team play. Capri De Biccari posted 11 points, 10 rebounds, 9 steals and 5 blocked shots. Emily Malcynsky, improving every game, dumped in 8 points, pulled down 9 boards while making 6 steals. Annie Marcinek recorded 6 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Emily Benson added 9 points and 3 steals while Kimmie Meneo offered 5 points. WILLIAMS 37 VS MAC DUFFIE 38
Williams slow start against MacDuffie put them 9 points behind at the end of the first half. Midway through the second period the Blues put continuous pressure on the ball winning the second half 25-13. Despite pressure the Williams team fell short of putting the game into overtime by one point ending the evening with a 37-38 loss. Capri De Biccari led the team with 15 points followed by Annie Marcinek with 9 and Kimmie Meneo with 7. In the loss, the Blues shot a season high 52% from the floor and 59% in the two point range.
WILLIAMS 22 vs ST. ANDREW 37
Eleven Williams players spent considerable time on the court trying to rattle a feisty St. Andrews team. Despite some assertive second half team play the Blues left for home with a 22-37 loss dropping their overall record to 4-6. St. Andrew raised their record to 10-7 with help from Mena Mendes who dumped in a game high 14 points. Capri De Bicarri led the Blues with 8 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals while senior Annie Marcinek posted 4 points, 4 boards and 3 blocks.
WILLIAMS 25 vs FALMOUTH 42
Numerous turnovers and fouls, a low shooting percentage, the loss of senior leader Marissa Peck early in the game due to a sprained ankle, and the opponents double teaming senior captain Annie Marcinek certainly played a part in Williams demise to a feisty Falmouth squad. Williams played hard securing 18 steals and a season high 45 rebounds as they fell to 4-5 overall. Capri De Biccari had a team high 14 points and 17 boards, Annie Marcinek posted 4 points and 10 rebounds while Emily Benson dumped in 5 points and Emily Malcynsky 2.
WILLIAMS 39 VS HYDE 32
Outstanding team play along with ball control took place during the first half of competition resulting in a 39-32 victory for the Blues. Tri-captains, Marissa Peck, Annie Marcinek and Capri De Biccari scored in double digits for the third time this season while Marissa posted her fourth double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Annie offered 12 points and 6 boards and Capri posted 11 points. Emily Marcynsky earned her second start of the season rounding out the scoring with 3 points in addition to securing 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist. The combination of 36 rebounds, 13 steals and 7 assists by the team contributed to the win. With an overall record of 4-4, the Blues are looking forward to breaking the 500 mark with a win at home against Falmouth this Friday. Congratulations goes to the players and Coach Chrim
WILLIAMS 36 VS BANCROFT 38
Williams, plagued by 27 turnovers took a low 33 field goal attempts in a heartbreaking 36-38 loss to Bancroft. Playing with intensity and keeping her composure, Marissa Peck posted 7 steals and scored a game high 20 points in addition to pulling down 13 boards for her third double-double this season. In addition to 8 boards, Capri De Biccari dumped in 9 points. Carly Mattson had 4 points and Kimmie Meneo posted 3 while Emily Malcynsky received her first start of the season. The Blues had a respectable 30 rebounds and 13 steals as they dropped to 3-4 overall.
WILLIAMS 51 VS PCD 27:
After a bit of haphazard play during the first period the Blues, with increased second half intensity, outscored PCD by 21 points for a 51-27 win. Williams, while 3-3 overall is 3-2 in league competition. Tri-captains Marisa Peck, Annie Marcinek and Capri De Biccari scored in double digits for the second time this season in back-to-back games. Marissa posted 13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals and 4 blocks while senior teammate, Annie, posted a game and personal high 16 points supplemented by 5 boards and 2 blocks. Capri dumped in 13 points with nine coming from the charity stripe along with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. The remaining 9 points were offered by Emily Malcynsky, Annie Nelson and Carly Mattson. Congratulations goes to the team and Coach Chrimes.
WILLIAMS 37 VS ST. ANDREW 39
Three Williams players scoring in double figures was not enough to defeat St. Andrew nor was it enough to compensate for the Blues 30 turnovers. Marissa Peck posted 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 6 blocked shots while Annie Marcinek offered 10 points, 9 boards, and 4 blocks. Capri DeBiccari contributed 10 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals with 4 blocked shots. During the 32 minutes of playing time the score remained close with the Blues maintaing the scoring edge for most of the game. While Williams was plagued by turnovers St. Andrew was plagued by fouls.
Williams 45 Wheeler 20
Determined to bring home a solid victory the Blues jumped to a 27 - 4 lead during the first half of play then coasted to a 45 - 20 win. Capri De Biccari posted her first double-double of the season dumping 15 points into the hoop while pulling down 11 boards. Marissa Peck had a game high 18 points with 9 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 blocks and 2 assists. Senior Annie Marcinek contributed 6 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks in addition to 1 assist and 1 steal. Williams 31 Lincoln 67
Sophomore Capri De Biccari led the Blues in scoring with 13 points. Five of her points came from the charity stripe on six attempts while the remaining eight were laid into the hoop from aggressive drives into the paint. Marissa Peck added 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal including 1 blocked shot. Annie Marcinek and Emily Benson each scored 4 points while Annie Nelson and Emily Malcynsky posted 2 points each. Despite playing hard, the Williams squad could not put a damper on the highly experienced and dominating Lincoln team now posting a 9-1 overall record.
Williams 40 Falmouth 38
Marissa Peck hit a 3 pointer with 22 seconds remaining on the clock tying the game at 38-38. Annie Nelson was sent to the free throw line by Falmouth with an insignificant .5 seconds left. Annie dumped in both shots giving Williams the hard earned and exciting victory. The first 16 minutes of playing time seemed to be a warm-up session for both teams. During the second half 4 lead exchanges and 7 ties made for a very competitive and exciting game. Marissa had a well rounded game posting 17 points,6 rebounds,4 assists,4 steals and 2 blocked shots. In addition to shooting 2-for-2 at the stripe, Annie contributed another 6 points. Capri De Biccari offered 8 boards, 5 points, 5 assists, 2 steals with a blocked shot. Senior forward Annie Marcinek dumped in 8 points with some awesome moves near the hoop. CONGRATULATIONS to the players and Coach Crimes. (srw)

Senior captain Marissa Peck posted her first double-double of the season leading the team with 16 points and 10 rebounds. In addition to 4 points, senior Annie Marcinek pulled down 9 defensive boards. Sophomore Capri DeBicarri dumped in 7 points along with 3 rebounds and 2 steals.
