February 9, 2008: Campaign Kickoff At a sold-out campaign kick-off dinner held on February 9th at the Williams School, over 200 friends of Williams celebrated the launch of Embracing Excellence: The Campaign for Williams. The $2.5 million effort will be the largest campaign in School history. In a surprise announcement, Campaign Co-Chairs Marc J. Bokoff and Brian J. Carey announced that total gifts and pledges have already surpassed $2 milliona record-breaking level of giving at Williams. The Board of Trustees, generous alumni, various parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, and foundations gave these early commitments. While recognizing the need for ever-increasing operational support, this Campaign goes beyond today’s needs and looks to the future. It seeks to ensure Williams’ long-term financial health by strengthening the Endowment, securing and augmenting financial aid, faculty compensation, as well as academic programs. It looks to improve our facilities to accommodate our expanded student body. A Fitness Center, new Student Center and renovated Art Wing will prepare our students to be active, creative, and healthy participants in our rapidly changing world. To accomplish this, we must raise $2.5 million. This goal is ambitious, but we are confident that we will reach and exceed our goal. |
