Report of Giving 2006-07
Academic year 2006-07 was a year for breaking fundraising records at The Williams School. Most notably the goal for The Fund for Williams was exceeded by over $37,000 and faculty and staff participation reached 100% for the first time ever. Over 330 donors contributed to the Richard P. Dauer Memorial Fund, including alumni from every year Rick was at Williams and the Senior Parent Gift sailed past its ambitious goal. While these figures are quite impressive I urge you to look beyond them at what these records illustrate. At Williams, we have always pointed with pride to our school's strong sense of community, collaboration and cooperation. As a non-profit organization, Williams operates entirely without government financial support and tuition covers only 85% of the cost of the operating budget. Like all independent schools, Williams relies heavily on philanthropy to help fill this gap. Last year almost 1,000 individuals representing all constituenciesalumni, faculty, parents, trustees, vendors and parents of alumniresponded by giving generously to ensure the continued financial well-being of the school. What a powerful illustration of our school's strong tradition of cooperation and collaboration. Thank you for the role you played in this most successful year on record. Your active involvement is greatly appreciated and an impressive demonstration of your commitment to excellence. Carol Patterson |
