Coach Sandra White writes, "The Williams Varsity Softball Team placed second in the WNEPSGSBA Tournament, competing against KLHT of Stamford in the finals Sunday, May 18th. The final score on the board read KLHT 12 - Williams 7.

They played their best against one of the best. They gave everything they had. They played with pride. They played together. They displayed sportsmanship. They were winners. Unlike the earlier game in the season when Williams suffered a 26-2 loss, KLHT was now forced to compete against the effort and strength of a team playing on a higher plane of achievement. KLHT found themselves playing hard while trying to find a way to overcome the ever present tenacity of the Blues.

The young Williams players will probably forget who did what in this game along with the final score, but they will remember their teammates and that teamwork makes a difference in our lives. CONGRATULATIONS to all the players and Coach Gleich for a successful and rewarding WNEPSGSBA Tournament and 2008 11-4 Season. A very appreciative thanks to all the softball parents and friends for their support"
