Service Committee Coffeehouse for Haiti, January 29, 2010

Faculty moderator Diane McCue shared the good news that the Coffeehouse raised $1,831, which combined with funds raised by the French classes' bake sales, sweat pants day, and the Gentlemen's Club to bring the grand total to $3,462 donated to the Haitian Health Foundation for earthquake relief efforts.

At the Coffeehouse, there were 31 separate acts with multiple performers: 6 members of faculty/staff and approximately 40 students. The Multicultural Club sold pizza, baked goods from the faculty, and Mini Melts donated by the Moseys. The tables were donated by Steve Daren. Canned goods were received at the door with admission. Trustee and parent Kathleen Maher opened the evening with a slide presentation describing the plight of Haiti. A slide show also ran during the evening with pictures of the earthquake's aftermath given to us by Martha Reynolds, a volunteer for HHF who spoke at assembly.
