MyAlerts Sign-Up Instructions

Sign-up to receive email and/or text message alerts for The Williams School news (especially weather alerts regarding early dismissal and school opening delays or cancellations) and calendar items that most interest you.

Please know that you must first sign up for this free service with an email and/or mobile phone and then select the news and/or calendar items to which you would like to subscribe. 

If you encounter any difficulties with signing up for MyAlerts or logging into the Parent Portal, please contact Renee Fournier at 860-439-2791 or rfournier@williamsschool.org. 

Step 1

Sign in to the Parent Portal to start, then look for the MyAlerts link on the right sidebar of the Parent Portal Page.

Step 2

Click "Add" on the MyAlerts sign-up page to enter one email (see Steps 3 and 4) and/or one mobile phone (see Step 5).

Step 3

If you would like to sign up for email alerts:

Please note that you are free to use any one of your email addresses to sign up for MyAlerts. Unlike your Parent Portal login, it does not need to be the one that Williams has on record for you as your "official" contact email.

Once you click on "Save" a verification email will be sent to the address you just entered.

Step 4

After you receive the verification email and click on the link it contains, you will see this view of your MyAlerts sign-up window.

Step 5

If you would like to sign up for text message alerts:

Enter your mobile phone number, select your mobile phone carrier, click "Save" and a text message will be sent to your mobile phone in a few minutes with a verification code.

A box will appear in the General Information section for you to enter the verification code that was sent via text message. Enter it and click "Verify"

Step 6

Once you have added an email and/or mobile phone, the system would like you to select what particular news and/or calendar alerts interest you. Click "Add" in the News or Calendar Alerts sections to see the menu of option. You can sign up for any or all, depending on your interest. We strongly recommend that all parents sign up  Homepage Alert News. This will share news of school closings, early dismissals or delayed opening and any other extremely urgent news.
