Williams celebrated Spirit Week from September 18-22, culminating in Verhoeff Sports Day and Homecoming Weekend.
Monday was Color Wars, with each graduating class assigned a specific color of the rainbow to wear. Every class performed well during the Lip Sync contest at assembly, but highlights include a hilarious and educational medley called the Evolution of Taylor Swift performed by our seniors and a heartfelt rendition of We Are the World by our juniors.
Tuesday was Twin Day, so the halls were filled with scores of lookalikes, including Will Jarrett '18 and Andrew Little '18 who dressed to match art teacher Mr. Bowerman, and Mary Madaus '21 and English teacher Miss Schavoir dressed as Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen circa 1993 on Full House with Colin Madaus '18 dressed as Danny Tanner. During assembly, two members of each class came forward to compete in Musical Chairs in the gym. Ultimately, sophomore Harry Anselmi won the day after squaring up against 8th grader Sterling Frost.
Wednesday was Pop Culture/Meme Day, and students were encouraged to dress up like a meme, celebrity, or anything in pop culture. Darth Vader, Deadpool, the Joker and Loki roamed the Student Center during snack, while students with print outs of their favorite memes LOLed at each other in the hallways. Groups of students from each class then competed in a pop culture trivia contest.
To celebrate Flashback Friday, each graduating class was assigned a decade from the 1950s on to dress in the style of. The Senior class took on the decade of the 80s with some fierce fashion, with the 6th graders rocking out with some hippie and mod styles of the 60s. Later in the afternoon, everyone gathered in the gym to cheer on the obstacle relay race, won by the seniors.
