Parents Association
--------------- Recent PA Events Parenting Through the College Exploration Process The college search process can be as much of a challenge to parents, and their relationship with their children, as it is to the students themselves. At the Thursday, April 8 morning meeting, the Parents Association presented Kay Kimball Gruder (center), a parent coach and founder of Successful College Parenting, who shared advice on how to take stock of parenting patterns and make adjustments to handle the challenges of this particular slice of parenting life. For more on her approach, take a look at the articles on her website or archived issues of her electronic newsletter. ------------------ Family Fun Skate Williams parents also had a great variety of events to attend last fall, including a book talk by author Michael Rosen, arranged with the generous cooperation of Bank Square Books in Mystic. Right after Grandparents Day parents (and students) enjoyed a night out at the Goodspeed Opera House production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. With a cocktail reception and presentation by Classics teachers Melissa Moss and Richard Kenwothy, the evening was educational, enjoyable, and a great time for Williams families. Watch this page for upcoming “friendraisers” and be sure to check out the events link to the left for other school gatherings and volunteer opportunities. ------------------ Scenes from the Parents Association November Meeting featuring author Michael Rosen Scenes from the Williams Theater Evening Reception at the Gelston House |
