Boys 13th. Girls 5th

The Williams School Cross Country Team traveled to Thompson, CT today for the 2018 NEPSTA Division IV Cross Country Championship 5K race hosted by the Marianapolis Preparatory School. There were 33 teams in the Girls' race with 220 Varsity participants and 20 JV participants. There were 38 teams in the Boys' race with 266 Varsity participants and 52 JV participants.

The Williams School Varsity Boys' team placed thirteenth with an overall team score of 370 points. Scoring for the Williams School: Hartmut Doerwaldt, '21, earned 4th place with a time of 18:36, Philip Knowlton, '22, earned 21nd place with a time of 19:33, Hunter Dolphin, '20, earned 85th place with a time of 22:11, Jackson Meisner, '21, earned 127th place with a time of 23:33, and Jasper Wright, '22, earned 120th place with a time of 24:22. (Zheng Lian, '21, earned 140th place with a time of 26:01).

The Williams School Varsity Girls' team placed fifth with an overall team score of 152 points. Scoring for the Williams School: Mary Madaus, '21, earned 3rd place with a time of 21:29, Grace Cassineri, '22, earned 9th place with a time of 23:34, Sydney Swann in 35th place with a time of 26:05, Anna Terry, '21, 50th place with a time of 28:04, and Carly Straub, '22, earned 77th place with a time of 28:44. (Samanta Karlson, í21, placed 79th with a time of 28:52, and Katie Burzin, í20, came in 107 with a time of 31:48).  

The Williams School JV Girls' team did not qualify but had a wonderful race. Farrah Scott, í24, came in first place (25:41), followed by Ella Adin-Atherton, í24, in second place (26:41). Navia Ladd, í21, came in 11th place with a time of 31:52, and Aliya Khan, í22, in 13th with a time of 33:21.  

Qualifying from the Williams School for the 2018 NEPSTA All Division Cross Country Championship All Star race were: Mary Madaus, Grace Cassineri and Hartmut Doerwaldt. They will be traveling to Southborough, Massachusetts to compete with all four NEPSTA Divisions next Saturday, November 17, hosted by St. Marks School.
