10th Graders Study Romanticism in an Multidisciplinary X Block
The History, English, and Fine Arts departments recently collaborated to bring 10th graders a special X Block examining Romanticism from different perspectives.
One group of students went with Ms. Zweir and Ms. Marvel to the Lyman Allyn Museum to look at examples of Romanticism in painting. Other groups split their time between writing odes to snack in the style of Romantic poets with Ms. Schavoir and Mr. Hartel and listening to different examples of Romanticism in music with Mr. Holt and Mr. Emanuel. This X Block provided an opportunity for teachers from different departments to work together and give students a rich, holistic perspective on an important cultural movement.
