Señor Cohen’s Students Prepare and Enjoy a Spanish Luncheon Together
Señor Cohen’s Spanish I class, comprised of eleven students ranging from 7th grade to 11th grade, had their "almuerzo español" (Spanish luncheon) last week, which is an annual event that follows the food unit from the third quarter.
Each student prepared a traditional Spanish or Latin-American dish and the class enjoyed their meal together during the second half of the double. This year's offerings included gazpacho, albóndigas (Spanish meatballs), empanadas de pollo y de carne, chili con carne, quesadillas, Spanish-style marinated green beans, and guacamole, along with desserts such as flan, churros, and tropical fruit salad. “Everything was beautifully prepared and muy delicioso!” Señor Cohen said happily.
