Finished strong with a victory over Salisbury School.

The Williams School Sailing Team departed New London early this morning in the fog and light drizzle on their way to Pequot YC in Southport, CT for the Super Saturday Team Race Regatta. After a quick sailor’s meeting followed by the rig up and launching of 18 420 sailing dinghies, the fleet comprised of six Connecticut high school teams worked their way out of the harbor onto Long Island Sound.
Despite a fairly light southerly wind that eventually shifted to the east, almost all of the match ups were completed. After eight total races against four of the five other schools, Williams emerged with three losses to Fairfield Prep, Fairfield Ludlow, and Greens Farms Academy but finished strong with a victory over Salisbury School.
Next up for the Sailing Blues is a trip to West Haven to race the Sound School on Wednesday, May 15th.
