Eighth Grade Parents - Change to Student Phone Privileges
Eighth graders may now carry their phones with them during the day, provided that they adhere to appropriate use guidelines.
Last week, the eighth grade class officers petitioned the administration for a spring privilege allowing eighth graders to carry their phones with them during the day, rather than keep phones in lockers. As leaders of the middle school and looking ahead toward upper school, this privilege seems appropriate and was approved. Eighth graders have been made aware that if a student's phone is confiscated and turned in to the Front Desk due to inappropriate use, the student will lose the privilege and the phone will be kept in the locker during the day for remainder of the year. Questions or concerns about this shift in expectations for the eighth grade should be directed to Macy Kleinfelder, Dean of Student Affairs.
